Best Laid Plans

You know when you make plans and through no fault of your own everything just goes wrong? That’s what’s happening to us this week. We were supposed to leave on Monday, but had some car trouble. Now, we’re just waiting to hear if our car is fixed. We are trying our best to keep good attitudes, but I’m not looking forward to seeing 6-8 inches of snow instead of 70 degree weather.

We’ve both gotten worked up a few times, but soon realize there’s no use. It’s out of our hands. So, I’m going to list off some things that I’m grateful for instead of complaining.

I’m happy I even have the chance to go on a vacation at all.
I’m happy I got to spend the past 2 days with my favorite person on the earth even though it’s not at the beach.
I’m happy that I got to wear a shirt my sister gave me the other day (a late Christmas present) before we leave.
I’m happy we got to spend a fun day that included shopping at Crate & Barrel.
I’m happy Bob just got a call from the mechanic to say our car is fixed.
I’m happy that I’m alive and living in the land of the free and home of the brave.

I’ve got a good life.

SNOW DAY!

Totally didn’t expect the snow today, but it was kind of fun. We really only have a dusting here, but the flakes were HUGE! I put this outfit on before I knew there was snow and didn’t get to leave it on long for a couple of reasons.

I didn’t want to ruin my new shoes/my feet were freezing.
I had so many layers on that I started feeling suffocated! You know when you’re swimming and most of your body is under water and you start to feel like you can’t breath? Well, that’s what was going on with the 3 shirts I had on. Ha ha! It’s OK, I’m in more breathable layers now and am feeling much better.

Finally Found Women’s Long Jeans

In last month’s InStyle magazine there was a pair of trouser jeans with some hot heels. Then I saw them again, and again, and again… It’s making me happy because I’m realizing I won’t always have to only wear skinny jeans. But seeing all these has made me on an obsessed rampage to find some cute, long jeans that I can wear with high heels. All my jeans are too short and (in case you haven’t noticed) I’m really into wearing heels right now. So I went and tried a few pair on. And I actually got a pair! Woohoo! I finally broke down and paid full price for this pair at Gap. I also loved this pair at Loft and this one at Gap, but they didn’t have my size.
