Valentine’s Day is probably my favorite holiday. But this year, I’m totally neglecting it. The only person getting a present today is Bella. She needs a new crate. She outgrew her puppy one. I may talk Bob into looking at new rings for him. He lost his a few months back and we haven’t replaced it yet. That does sound like a fun evening.

Wanna know why I like V-day? Because my mom always spoiled me with gifts! She was always my Valentine. She even got us chocolate covered strawberries this year. Isn’t she sweet!

Then, 6 years ago, I had my first real valentine: Bob. And do you know what? He proposed Valentine’s weekend! And that made me love it even more! My first Valentine’s day with a boyfriend and I get engaged. What a great holiday!

Sharing Food With A Man

Today Bob and I went out to eat. We never do this, but we both ordered the same thing. Normally, we’ll each order something that the other would like too and we share. (Don’t we sound like an old married couple!) But today, Bob got sick of me ordering the best thing on the menu (the fish sandwich) while he ordered a salad. Boring. So we each got our fish sandwich.

Now I always have this theory that he eats all his food and then eats all mine, not because he’s trying to starve me, but because he thinks we’re getting the same portion because we’re eating it at the same time. However, he eats like one of those dogs that’s possessive of his food. He eats a banana in 3 bites. If I offer him a bite of my mom’s delicious chocolate chip cookies, he takes two thirds of it and laughs when I get mad.

Well, his meal was gone (fries and all) before I even finished the first half of mine. The rest of the time I ate he stared at me/my food with bug eyes just waiting for me to put it down and look away and he’d grab it like an angry vulture that hadn’t eaten in days.(You’d think the boy never eats!) I proceeded to tell him that I wanted all of it and he was in denial. “Yeah, put some sauce on that, I’m gonna want sauce.”

I ate it all and he told me I was a douche bag. Guess that’s what I get for training him that I like to share with him.

Fresh Fish

You guys, I’ve eaten a fish sandwich everyday since we got to Florida with the exception of the day I got fish tacos instead. I just can’t get enough! And let me tell you, they keep getting better everyday!

I go through spurts of things I like to eat. Once I get on a kick, I want it EVERYDAY! When I was a kid I ate Honey Nut Cheerios everyday for about a year and a half. Then, I got totally sick of them and I don’t care if I never eat them again. Most things I don’t get to eat as much as I’d like, so there’s been nothing else like that.

Here are some foods I’ve been obsessed with:

Macaroni & Cheese (the frozen kind you bake in the oven.)
Fried Rice
Rooibos Tea
Fried Egg with spinach, sauteed red peppers, goat cheese, sweet potatoes and honey. YUM!
Chips and salsa with cream cheese
Spinach Ravioli
Soft pretzel with mustard & chocolate milk
Pop Tarts
Peach Ice Tea
Oatmeal Swirlers (did anyone else eat this!?!)

You get the idea. As I’m looking at all these, I realize how random they are. They’re not all in one family of food, like Italian or Mexican. They’re just items I find that I’m in love with eating. Hopefully I’ve given you some new meal/snack ideas. And if you live on the coast, go get a fresh fish sammy that is either blackened or bronzed! Ugh! So good!
