I should have packed way more winter clothes than I did. I have a bunch of tank tops just begging to be worn, but instead I have to wear sweaters and jackets—together! But that’s ok. I can’t complain seeing as I left 10 inches of snow. So instead of laying on the beach, we went to the Edison/Ford Winter Estates. It was insightful and pretty cool. My favorite part was all the GIANT trees on the property. I havne’t seen the California Redwoods yet, so I can safely say these are the biggest trees I’ve seen. There may be a few like them in the Missouri Botanical Gardens (one of my favorite places), but not as many and in such amazing clusters.

Last night we slept in a kind of gross hotel. Yeah, it kind of sucked. But we woke up, walked on the beach and headed out to one of my favorite restaurants—Currents, the restaurant in the Sarasota Hayatt Hotel. THE BEST! If you ever are in Sarasota, go there! Get the tacos!

Anyway, just after we ordered I went to the restroom. I confidently walked in and did my business. As I was just leaving the stall I looked up and saw…a man! Gasp! Standing at the urinals! “Uh, am I in the wrong bathroom?” I asked. The man was (luckily) just on his phone finishing up another kind of business. Thank God! He started to walk out, but then realized there are no urinals in the girls restroom, so it must be me who is at fault. So then he wasn’t sure if he should leave or not. I told him I might as well wash my hands. When I looked in the mirror I realized I was bright red. Heh heh.

So awkward! I told him not to tell anybody and then I proceeded to text all my friends and tell all of you. Welp, I realized that everyone’s done it and it’s no big deal. Right?

Aaaaaand, We’re Off!

Wanna see what we left?

Bob had to shovel paths for our tires just so we could get out of our garage! Last night, the low was 2. We drove 12 hours and currently I’m sitting in a hotel where it’s almost 50 outside! That’s a drastic improvement as far as I’m concerned.

On the road we listened to The 4-Hour Workweek. It’s inspiring me to get more organized and streamline everything. This would have probably really helped me when I was at my job, but now I just want to hire someone to clean my entire house while I sit around and watch Oprah.

But more than that he suggested that anything that you want to do sometime in your life (or someday…), you have time to do it now! That got me excited. He suggested you start with something to learn, a place to go, um, and 3 other things that I can’t remember. Oh, Bob just reminded me that he’s more about doing what you want to do rather than having things you want to have.

This is probably the worst description of this book ever written. But you should totally read (or listen to) it.
