My Amazing Niece (Outfit 29)

12.07.2010 by Linda Lotich //

Went to the Christmas Production at our church. To my surprise, my niece Anna was singing in it. She’s the first niece/grandchild on my side and she’s used to lots of attention. So she’s become quite a ham! After the production she entertained us with how high she could kick her leg. She almost succeeded in kicking herself right in the face.

She has just lost 2 teeth! Can’t believe she’s already old enough to be losing teeth, but she is. The first one, she told me, “was lost by a taco” and the other “was lost by a toothbrush.” Is that amazing stuff or what?

Here is her message to the world: Peace!

Peace

Your Personal Style (Outfit 28)

12.06.2010 by Linda Lotich //

I was watching a Who What Wear podcast yesterday that Bob had found for me and the subject was Real Girls, Real Style. The host was talking to this specific girl and asked her what her personal style is. She replied, “I think my personal style’s sort of quirky and fun with a sort of vintage/tribal note sometimes.”

Vintage/tribal? Seriously? Where do people come up with this stuff? I have never been able to describe my personal style. Maybe it’s because I’m too lame to come up with something as cool as vintage/tribal. One time on What Not To Wear a girl described her style as Futuristic Pin-up. Um, OK. Also, if you’ll notice, when someone is describing their personal style they always say they like to be comfortable. That’s so subjective. Some people are comfortable in 5 inch heels. That doesn’t mean what they’re wearing is really comfortable. I’m putting those people in the same category as cat people who say, “No, my cat is different. It’s like a dog!”

I’d like to call this outfit colorful, angry, optimistic, terrycloth chic.

Lauren & Linda Cookie Night

Cookie Baking Gang

OK, so I broke the 30/30 rules on Friday night for something awesome. Christmas Cookie Night! My sister-in-law is such a great hostess and she invited me to bake Christmas Cookies with a bunch of her friends! It was so great. We laughed and talked and drank sparkling grape juice and baked lots of cookies. I took them to work the next day. They were stinking good too! I heard they were the talk of the store. 🙂

OK, so I have a secret for you. We made Gooey Butter Cookies. Gooey Butter cake is totally a St. Louis thing, just like toasted ravoili (yum!). You should totally make some Gooey Butter cookies or a gooey butter cake. You will impress everyone you know.

PS:  Don’t forget to enter the Christmas Giveaway!
