Yea! How was your weekend? Mine was busy and great. Got to visit with my cousins from out of town, went to a retirement party for my father-in-law, had a family party where we celebrated my nephews birthday…sheesh! I’m wiped!

You see that first picture? That’s me realizing that there was a grasshopper on my window. I hate grasshoppres. One hit me in the shoulder the other day while I took Bella out to go potty. It felt like someone was tapping my shoulder. Sick. I know they’re harmless, but the just BOTHER me! Bob always makes fun of me because I have an eye for finding bugs. I can’t help it. They stick out to me. And I always seem to see them while we’re having a serious conversation. 🙂 My eyes wander and look for bugs, OK?!? If I was only braver in dealing with them…

Hi! I’m Joanna Haughton from ModaMama. It’s such a pleasure to be here guest posting on Rose a la Mode. Linda has such a great style that works so well for new moms like me. Except for the heels. Most days I can only dream wistfully about wearing cute heels like hers! Who am I you might ask? I’m an actor, TV host, writer and young mom. I share my life with these two little monkeys…

I collect dresses the way some women do cats. Crazy Cat Lady, meet Crazy Dress Lady. Seriously, I’m currently being added to the American Encyclodpeia of Mental Disorders.

That’s me in a nutshell. And here’s what I’m wearing.

The first thing I did when I bought the skirt is toss the matching belt. Well, I didn’t actually toss it, just put it away to use with other outfits. I dislike the whole matchy-matchy thing almost as much as I dislike cooking, maybe more. So, I paired it with a fun contrasting belt instead.

I’m actually very daring today for a mom with a messy baby – white shirt aaaand heels! It’s ‘cause I’m going out for a good part of the day. Yay! New moms get excited about things like that.

And foot massages, we also loooove foot massages.

Finishing The Basement And Blog Love

I’m in my basement, we’re in the middle of finishing it! This weekend, it gets painted. (Oh, speaking of which, our friend is helping us paint and he’s amazing. We had another painter come over and he was looking for a mistake and couldn’t find it, so if you’re in the St. Louis area and need a painter, let me know!) But don’t let this screw gun fool you. I’ve done almost nothing down there. Although I did get up at 6:30 in the morning to help Bob unload 50 sheets of drywall (in 2 packs)!

I totally got talked into this shirt by Jill. All she had to do is post a picture of it on twitter and I ran out and bought it. I almost bought a gray one and a blue one about a year ago, but honestly, the blue one was way too trendy and worn by every other blogger around. Even though I copied off Jill, at least I felt like she was the only other one with this shirt.

Oh how I rationalize things.

I am not sure you can buy it online anymore, so you’ll have to get it in this color in the store. Oh, and just in case you’re wondering what else Jill mentioned that I’ll be buying soon, it’s this. Have to have it! Also bought these because of her. Love them!
