High Heels

August 16, 2010

These heels are 5 inches tall. By far the tallest pair I own. And they’re amazing! I’m not to the point yet where I could walk around the mall with them, but I must say they are pretty comfy. And since wearing them, I have been wearing heels everyday! I don’t remember the last time I was excited to wear heels. They make me walk taller, I stand straighter, they make me look better. Oh, I just love heels. Do you?

Bob and I went out on Friday (and by out I mean we left the house) and I was itching to wear these shoes! I love them!

So before I started this site, I was a cyber-stalker. I never left comments so no one would ever know I was there! But I have since changed my ways!

Anyway, all that to say I was wondering around the internet and don’t even remember how I found Layers of Meaning, but I did. And I have been cyber stalking her ever since! She is so inspiring! From her Etsy finds of the day, to showcasing new sites, and her home decoration . . . I just love it. You have to visit it. Everything there is amazing. Plus, it’ll show you many more sites you can visit and chose to cyber stalk or not (hopefully not though).

New York & Co.

August 13, 2010

There are certain stores that I don’t shop at because their clothes make me look like an old lady. I really don’t like this because some of these stores sell really nice clothes, but for some reason they don’t suit the look I’m going for. Do you have any stores like this?

Anyway, New York and Co used to be one of those stores. However, I NEED to go back and try on these two items below. I saw them on a mannequin and they looked so good! I’ll let you know how it goes for me, but you should go try them on yourself! They had this outfit belted too. And I saw some cute accessories there too. It’d be great for Sunday church and brunch, a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or a date! And really, they could transition into fall quite nicely!

Way to go NY & Co for stepping it up!

KM2 Shoes

August 12, 2010

My first non 30/30 post! Yea! It was so fun getting dressed today. I felt like I had so many options! Ha! And you can’t tell in these pics, but I painted my nails today! Don’t get used to this though. Usually I try to paint them and they get wrecked within 10 minutes or chip the next day and I just give up until inspiration strikes me to try it again.

I got this top from H&M about 2 months ago. I saw someone with it and they couldn’t find their size. Lucky for me it was my size! It was the only one left too! I tried it on and my sister told me I had to get it, so I did. And as much as I am enjoying this breezy, light, summery top, it’s not my favorite part of todays outfit. My favorite part is the shoes!

I bought my first pair on Tuesday and they are amazing. Let me tell you about them. They are hand made by 3 of the most amazing girls! Katelyn, Megan & Mattison make up KM2 Shoes. These girls have been personal friends of mine for a very long time and I am excited about what they’re doing. These shoes are seriously hot and make my legs look incredible. I’ve never had shoes that made my legs look like these do. They’re 3 of the most amazing girls I know and 10% of all their sales go to stop human trafficing! What an inspiring cause.

Check out these beauties! And I promise to get more, better photos. but you can also visit their site!

Yeah, I think you’ll be seeing a lot of these babies.

You know what’s so funny about these too? As I was trying them on I told a friend of mine that they’re a little too advanced for me. I don’t normally wear anything with this much bling. But she said, “Linda, if you just wear these people won’t question you. You can do whatever you want because these shoes make you look like you know what you’re doing.” At first I was thinking, “yeah right!” But then I realized that I think that about others who are wearing one awesome piece, so I got the shoes and I’m looking forward to looking like I know what I’m doing! Ha!

Day 30 Business Casual

August 11, 2010

30 for 30 Banner

Not sure why I’m calling this business casual. I wore it to church and I no longer work in an office. Oh well, here it is! My last outfit for the challenge!

JCrew Pants

I got this shirt from Bitten. Do you remember Sarah Jessica Parker’s line? It was so great and so cheap! I got an awesome t-shirt from there that did not like to be washed and lost it’s form rather quickly. But this shirt has lasted me 2 years! I also got an awesome winter coat for $10! I’m sad Steve & Barry’s closed and there is no longer any cheapo Bitten clothes for me to buy.

Bitten Shirt

Here is my new Linkel Designs Ring! Isn’t it great! I’m loving it.

Linkel Designs Ring

This challenge has been better than I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong, I had a difficult time coming up with new, unique outfits and didn’t always succeed, but it was so good for me to see how much I had with only 30 pieces! I’m looking forward to doing this again if Kendi does it in the Fall because I’m realizing there are some items in my closet that I actually do like, but don’t ever wear! How tragic! They are made and bought for my wearing, but too often I find myself thinking they’re boring. I definitely appreciate my clothes more and am looking forward to new possibilites with all my clothes from now on!

Day 28 & 29 Shorts

August 10, 2010

You know, I’m really not into shorts. I would much rather be in a skirt. But I found amazing use out of these shorts! Both of these outfits were worn on the weekend by me and I wasn’t able to get pics fast enough. But, I’m ready for this challenge to be over, so I’m showing them off anyway! :)

This top one I wore the day of Bob’s softball tournament (he’s on the blue team!) and the day we got Bella. That was all one day, not two. Bella got it dirty before I could get a good pic though. This hat I bought at Charlotte Russe and found some patches from Victoria Secret Pink and ironed them on! This is probably the coolest hat I own, which isn’t saying much. But it is necessary for those days when it’s humid beyond belief and I have to be outside.

Now this outfit, I wore when I wasn’t feeling great and I knew I was going to be a bit chilly. I also stopped by the mall. But I didn’t buy a thing! I swear!
